I have done many weddings now so I do become familiar with wedding venues in and around Buckinghamshire. A very popular venue is the Kings Hotel in Stockenchurch.
I have photographed there twice now, and if you include the rehearsal visits I know the venue quite well. It is attractive without being ostentatious, it’s attractiveness comes in it’s modesty; as you approach the hotel it does look simple, but as you walk up to it and walk between the pillars and through the front door you do ge a sense of occasion.
As a venue it is more than capable of handling weddings between 100-150 although it is best to contact them directly as to their exact number. For me, as a photographer, it offers numerous locations to take formal and informal photos. The lighting is great next to their big victorian windows. The bar area is spacious and yet does seem intimate. Wherever I sat I seemed connected to everyone else there; there is a nice warmth to that area which makes it very hospital if you ever need a break from the formalities of the Wedding.
For more information, go their official website www.kingshoteluk.com. The staff are friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable.
