And so it was I made sure my four wheel drive Audi could make it from Aylesbury to Great Missenden on a very snowy December. Even though it was very near Christmas and it was a Sunday the roads were very clear of other cars. The road was slippery, but personally I find that to be a hoot!!

I arrived very early as I didn’t want the snow to cause any delay. I met with Kevin and Jo. I scoped out the venue and took a few snow shots. The view was very pretty! I think I took 20 just of the grounds! Then all I had to do was to wait for when the immediate family were ready to renew their vows.

The vow ceremony was very intimate. Both Jo and Kevin had prepared speeches; both of them had thought alot about what they were about to say. I was very weary to do my job, but also not to be a distraction.

Once the guests arrived I got candid shots of them enjoying themselves. I spent the rest of the doing what I love. Photographing a special occasion is such an honour, I had a wonderful time and I hope 2011 will be just as bountiful as 2010 was.

This is just a quick post as I wanted to share this photo I took at my last wedding of 2010 in Missenden Abbey. The snow on the landscape was breathtaking. More photos to come soon.

A few weeks ago, 130 badminton players in and around the Aylesbury area came together to try and set an official world record. The record is to have the longest single rally with the most individual players, the current record stands at 96 in Singapore.

It was a fantastic way to spend an afternoon, there was real tension when the players came close to breaking the record, but along with that came alot of pressure. There were players of all levels but everyone felt the pressure of what they were trying to attempt.

In the end, the record attempt failed, the nearest they got was 73. I felt sorry for the guy who missed that shot as he’s a friend of mine. I could tell he was very disappointed with himself.

I felt it was important to say that because of the significance of yesterday’s wedding meant to me. Laura and Merlyn’s day a Christian wedding with God firmly in the middle and it is my belief that marriages will mean more and be more solid with that faith binding the couple together.

There are many photos to process but I did a rushed edit because I knew there would be loads of you wanting a sneek peek at the moments Kelly and I captured. The final images will not look like these as I will spend MUCH more time editing them.

Which leads me to an amazing iPhone application I downloaded a couple of months ago. I can take imperfect, fuzzy and inccorectly exposure images and I love it! I love it so much I plan on doing a photoshoot with it inspired by a local photographer friend.

These photos were taken around the Walton Court area and with the awesome Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 lens attached to my Nikkon D3.

Anyway, the original plan was to hike somewhere unfamiliar, but since the plans had changed I wanted to go somewhere closer so on the way I grabbed a friend and went for a very leisurely walk. The sun came out and we found this huge stockpile of logged trees. We tried lifting them but dammit they were heavier than my Nikon D3!!

I’m so glad I went out, now I intend to just chill out on this very nice Sunday afternoon. Mind you, it looks like it could be a nice sunset…

I said to Jade at the beginning of the day that I really wanted to capture her face, especially her eyes and I hope I have achieved that. Mind you, it wasn’t that hard; with the combination of great lighting, patience, a hard working model and THOSE eyes all I had to do was make sure I was pointing in the right direction! Oh and not forgetting the wonderful snow we had in Aylesbury. It was very chilly, but I’m sure Jade would agree it was well worth it!

Without doubt once Jade is back from her travels around New Zealand and Australia we’ll do some more shots with another theme. I’m sure I can come up with something. Perhaps a Bridal theme or a Bikini shoot at a beach!? Oh, my life is hard
