The irony did not escape me when yesterday morning at 5.30am I woke up to a my right wrist in absolute agony, so much so that something had to be done immediately;...  Friday was an evening I had noted on my calendar for quite some time. Two of my favourite local bands were playing in one intimate venue. Also, it was the first time I was taking out my Nikon D3 out on a real gig. The bands really worked the crowd who were up for it....  Over the summer I’ve shot well over 30 bands in various venues. Over that time I felt the need to invest in new equipment, in this case a very specific lens. Previously I’ve been shooting with a 70-200mm F2.8 that has been great for 50% of general shots, but because I’ve been moving into gig...
