But somewhere along the line you have to consider music for your ceremony and reception.

Is it better to have a DJ or a live band? That would depend on your budget but most would want a live band if money was not a defining factor.

I recommend what time of music you should have, but I can recommend a band. A few weeks ago I had the priviledge of photographing a jazz band called Jazz Juice. They are based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. They are made up of 5 very talented musicians each providing a very smooth and classic soundtrack to your wedding.

I cannot recommend them enough, and trust me when I say I have heard alot of Wedding Music!

It came about when I was asked to design a showcase DVD for the awesome catering company Indulgence; they wanted a Marks and Spencer’s style. I looked around but then I realised I had a gifted guitarist on my phone list by the name of Gary Mullins. I called him up, gave him a quick brief and let him just go for it! He came back to with two pieces; the first one being played here on the blog is called Indulgence and the second is a piece he arranaged called God bless this child.

I have always loved musicals and ever since I was a wee little lad I wondered what it would be like if everyone just spontaneously got into a dance routine!! I always had questions like where would they rehearse? How would they know when to do it? This video lives out that dream for me in such a spetacular way and in Liverpool Street Station, London! Simply awesome.

One of the best things about it is capaturing moments on stage, but one thing I am beginning to appreciate are the crowd. They are some of the most expressive faces I could shoot; they are entirely in the ‘zone’. The artist which they adore is playing on stage so their instinctive reaction is to smile, whoop, cheer and scream!

At my next gig (tomorrow) I’ll be getting more of the crowd, and here’s my message to the crowd and fans, when you see a photographer point his camera at you, it’s because he finds you interesting. You may not like your photograph taken, but trust me, the photograph will only use it if it’s good enough (well, a Pro would anyway). So please smile, wave, cheer, point, pose, grin, laugh or just give me an intense stare!!

I will say this though, he is the first legend I have had the pleasure to meet and shake his hand. A real gentleman. He was swarmed by fans backstage (which I was fortunate to have access to) and constantly remained professional.

I’m not someone who is a celebrity hound, I detest reality shows and talentless fame but without a doubt Mr Daltrey is a great example of a modern day legend.

Mr Daltrey, I salute you.

It wasn’t ideal as I was up against the sun rapidly lowering over the horizon. In the end I did get a few shots off; this is one of the few I am happy with.

I had to be stern with them as they wanted to banter and mess around, but I couldn’t afford to waste anytime. I still believe I can get better shots because once again I had to rush this shoot, just like the last time!
