Being a Wedding Photographer is essentially a one man show; as well as being a photographer I have to wear many other hats; businessman, accountant, marketing manager, planner and to be creative which is leads us to Web Designer. I’ve worked for large multinational corporations; I won’t name drop but I will say I have learnt a great deal as to what people want from design. Since going into business for myself I have applied those lessons in every aspect. With anything creative there are common rules; keep it simple, know your target audience, examine the statistics.

I’ve been putting off changing my gallery layout for sometime, in between editing photos I have been reorganizing the layouts.

I’ll keep the new layout for a month to see what the numbers say.

Three Weddings and a Photographer

Sorry the title isn’t that original but I thought it was appropriate. I completed the last of my Wedding Trilogy today. Although I feel tired I would not trade it for the world, I would love every day to be like the past 5 days.

By my estimations I have met 4 brides and 4 grooms, over 300 guests, 3 cakes, 3 amazing cars (DB9, Silver Cloud and a VW Camper Van), 7 locations, travelled over 450 miles and taken over xxxx photos.

Later today, after I get some sleep, I will be editing all those photos, designing a wedding album, compiling a CD, backing up my photos and planning this weekend which involves a Tatoo and Cambridge!

Do you print and frame your photos?

For whatever reason, printing photos, putting them in a frame and hanging them up on a wall seemed to be a lost art.

Online photos is more prolific than ever; digital cameras are now the must have gadget and more people are getting involved with capturing families, holidays and the drunk night out.

A contemporary and classic frame can be bought for well under £5, and most printers can spit out a half decent print with high gloss paper so I challenge you to frame your photos and display them the way they should be. Photo albums are nice, but they’re tucked away on a bookshelf and never receive the appreciation they deserve. I have a strange fondness for fridge magnets and what better use for them than to hold classic photos of your life. Most of mine are of close friends during my travels, but some are just too silly to mention My point is sticking them on a fridge is far better than sliding them into an album.

Full Day Photographic Coverage

We can start shooting from what ever time you require us to, no matter how early. We work with you prior to the Wedding Day to plan a shooting schedule, so we know where to be at the right time to get the best shots. The total shooting period is up to you. Your Wedding Day has to run like clockwork, so we keep shooting until a reasonable hour. I do not like to set specific times, because each Wedding is unique and different, so we work around you.

Signed Picture Frame
A classic, dark wooden frame measuring 23” by 14”, with a canvas so your guests can write their messages to you on your day. In the middle will be a 6” by 4” photograph of your choosing, which we will insert later.

Jorgensen Wedding Album
There are Wedding Albums, and then there are Great Wedding Albums. Based in Australia, Jorgensen Wedding Albums are beautifully handcrafted works of art. Two Moments Books

Secondary Photographer
Having two photographers to cover your event is essential. The advantages include full coverage of the bride and groom’s morning preparations, and less chance to miss your unforgettable moments.

Once you are happy with your photos we store them online on my secure website for you to share and enjoy wherever you are connected to the Internet.

Unlike some photographers we believe you hire us to take the hassle out of photography for you and that includes giving you the option to do whatever you want. We give you up to 200 photos, all digital mastered and enhanced.

Pre Wedding Shoot
How about having some photographs of the both of you in casual and informal surroundings? This will be added to part of the Wedding Collection.

Portrait DVD
We compile a selection of photos, of your choice, and produce a DVD slide show for you to view, set to the music of your choice. This DVD can be viewed on your television in the future, or if you wish, we can re-master it online for you, so your friends and family can share in the experience.

A gorgeous little girl on Christmas Day

To be honest, I don’t post many photos of children because of the legalities can be complicated, but I just had to ask permission for this particular little girl. Her name is Rowan. I met her and the parents whilst volunteering for a local church’s free Christmas dinner on the 25th. There were quite a few volunteers on the day, but Rowan was probably the star of the afternoon. She is full of life and personality and did not seem phased by the whole event at all. There were the homeless, the elderly, the lonely and the Foreign*.

Rowan was very bubbly with a very curious nature; my Nikon D3 seemed to fascinate her whenever I pointed it at her adorable face. Unlike some children, she did not shy away and quite liked the attention.

I was at the Church for a reason other than to document the day photographically; so I had fleeting moments when I could relax when taking shots; taking photographs of Rowan was a wonderful surprise of the day and made my Christmas Day a little more special.

I went to a couple’s birthday celebrations for their first daughter who’s one years old. One of my favourite photos is of my good friend Justin. He was feeling unwell…still, I’m always after that one shot. I boosted the contrast and white/black levels to get this shot in Post production.
