Whilst doing some research for some Weddings coming up, I found this website that has great “before and after” hair styles. The differences are amazing, some of the transformations are remarkable and almost don’t look like the same Bride. It just goes to show what a difference the hair makes on the Wedding Day.

It was a sad day last Sunday. A friend’s baby daughter was born in the early morning but soon passed away.

The only photo I took that day was while I was helping look after their son some mutual friends came over to help out. I took this photo because we knew little Zach would not remember this day so it was as much for him as it was for us.

The guy is a very kind and gentle man called Bob Stroud. He protests he is not very good with children but he was just amazing with Zach.

Anyway, I love this photo. I hope you do too.

This device just arrived this afternoon. I’m taking it out on an event this evening. It is essentially a mobile backup device for Compact Flash cards. You can backup other digital storage mediums with a 17-1 adaptor but I see no use for that at this point.

What is so great about this over other mobile back devices is the speed that is can backup files onto it’s internal 60gb HDD. According to the specifications, it can backup just over 1GB a minute. That is astonishing! I have used other devices and they are so poor that they are practically useless. They tend to be very slow, and drain the device’s batter before you backups are complete. Also, it’s battery life can last for approx 40gbs of data backup from one charge. It comes with everything you could think of for photographer on the move including a belt pouch, car charger and a external rechargeable battery for extended use.

This article here goes into more technical detail. I’ll be posting a field test review in the next few days.

I was after the perfect light on a late Sunday afternoon, however the lads were running late. It wasn’t ideal as I was up against the sun rapidly lowering over the horizon. In the end I did get a few shots off; this is one of the few I am happy with.

I had to be stern with them as they wanted to banter and mess around, but I couldn’t afford to waste anytime. I still believe I can get better shots because once again I had to rush this shoot, just like the last time!

Local Buckinghamshire band photoshoot & rehearsal

One of my favourite bands who I always have time for is Lightbox. I was invited to go to attend their rehearsal in a nearby village in the middle of nowhere which is very useful for a band who want loud without annoying any neighbours or cows!

Nearby was a corn field, except this time it didn’t have any corn so we made do. I really wanted to get the lads together for 6pm so I could catch the evening sunset; believe me the light from a sun set is the mose devine. If you can shoot people in that light then I strongly recommend you do that at all costs!

Of all the members, it is camera shy Joe who is the most interesting photographically. I won’t embarress him but I will say it is his reluctance which makes him the most natural infront of the camera.
