I realise this is a strange question, after all it makes business sense to win every wedding that comes my way but I want to be sure we are compabitble. The style of my photos must be unique and my level of service is very high and this may not be your taste. Which is why I insist on interviewing my clients before any talk of costs. To help, I've come up with a few frequently asked questions specifically about my photographic style.

how long do you shoot for?

As long as it takes, however I do impose a maximum time limit of 12 hours! I once covered a wedding that was running 90 minutes late, but I stayed in touch with the father of the Bride to stay ahead of the game. It is not professional to complain, nor is it acceptable to be seem unnerved by delays; just accept things are behind schedule and "deal with it" as a friend tells me.

do you find

Photographing weddings is a frame of mind, so long as I remember that all Weddings are different and to remain flexibile the it does take the stress and pressure off.

Every bride, groom, venue, caterer, videographer, parent, guest, cake, lighting and weather will vary. A wedding schedule can change in a heartbeat, decisions can be made within minutes and I have to be ahead of them every step. I find that exhiliarting; like a swan on water I have be calm & collected on the surface but underneath I my thinking and moving at an energized rate. The andrenaline really gets going when last minue changes happen, but that's the life of a photographer and all people working on a Wedding Day.

what do you expect from the bride and groom

I would be foolish if I said I did not expect anything, but at the same time I try not to be a burden. I make sure their best man & uhsers know who I am and what I expect of them. I will never bother the Bride and Groom on the day. Experience has taught me to use the Best Man and Ushers to my advantage; they are invaluable during the group shots or when things are running late. I need a good relationship with them.

do you have a style

i have a style of shooting but not really a style of photography. I take great influcence from the Hollywood actor/director Clint Eastwood. He shoots quickly and with precision. He likes the subjects (in his case actors) to bring freshness to his shots which I have found is the best way of doing it. In the past, when I have asked my subjects to hold a pose too long the start to look jade and tired very quickly, but by photographying quickly they remain energetic, keen and full of life!
